Description of problem:
The HP772n, P4 system, MSI MS6579 motherboard

USB bus controller is not recognize by anacona nor installed properly.

All attempts at alternate install failed so far.

Install from phoebe 0.93 CDs.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install from CDs
2. All looks fine, no errors
3. mouse does not work after install
4. first boot shows "fault" when trying to install USB controller.
5. USB mouse does not work
6. ethernet faults also and installs the correct realtek controller
7. ethernet does not work correctly,
8. ---but due to mouse problem, ethernet hard to really verify completely.

Actual Results: System looks OK after installer but first boot reveals USB
controller is not installed. Then ethernet controller is not installed.

Expected Results: Should install USB and function correctly.

Additional info:

Store bought configuration. HP772n P4 2.26ghz box. MSI MS6579 motherboard. USB
controller/hub Intel 8280 1DB/DBM. Board has 6 USB plugs.

Ethernet controller also does not auto detect during CD install. Realtek RTL8139
PCI fast ethernet NIC. May be related to USB problem. First boot install
apparently fixes the problem, but net does not seem to function correctly.

More info ...

kernel 2.4.21pre4-1mdk installs and runs all the above mentioned hardware
correctly. New kernel does not support the HP772n proprietary winmodem.

I installed and ran the new release MDK9.1B3 successfully on the same HP772n
box. No problems found with the auto installer, no run problems after install.
