Description Don Vanco 2007-04-16 17:29:16 UTC
Description of problem:
Sorry if this is a known issue, I did not see any entries against NTP similar.

Well, not really sure if it's a problem as much as an annoyance.
The issue is that the firewall "allowed port selection" in the installer has no
option for NTP, but firstboot allows you to turn on NTP. As one might guess, it
fails.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Well, I've only tried it once, but can't see how it would change

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install RHEL
2. Select NTP in firstboot
3.

Actual results:
No server found

Expected results:

You do not need to open the ntp port for ntp to work properly. The local ntp
process is initiating a connection to the time server, which is ok for the
firewall.

The steps above are working for me without any problem, so please give a
detailed problem description. Maybe there are network problems.
