Description Moriyoshi Koizumi 2007-03-21 03:40:45 UTC
Description of problem:

First I filed this one to the CentOS Issue Tracking System because I actually
don't use the retail one but I was told to report to Red Hat too. So here it goes:

The mutex backport patch (linux-2.6.9-mutex-backport.patch) that emulates kernel
mutex introduced in 2.6.16 apparently does not provide the definition for

This breaks the module build, otherwise ends up with an undefined symbol.

I encountered the problem when I was building FUSE.

Here's the result of dmesg:

fuse: no version for "struct_module" found: kernel tainted.
  fuse: Unknown symbol mutex_destroy

Attached is a quick fix for this problem. This is a replacement of the patch
itself, not a to the patch.
