Description Pete Zaitcev 2007-03-19 18:27:17 UTC
Description of problem:

Moving the "Time" slider kills video.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

Always. No race or anything.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Play a DVD.
2. Move the slider.
Actual results:

Video dies (sound too).

Expected results:

Seeking the video.

Additional info:

The GUI remains operationale. Totem responds to menus, such as "Quit".
I can hear DVD seeking when slider is moved, so the commands get to
underlying libraries and are executed.

Seeking DivX encoded clips works fine. This is something specific
to DVD.

Do you see any errors on the command-line?

Please also attach the output of "GST_DEBUG=*:2 totem" and reproduce the problem.

Created attachment 150423 [details]

Looks like it's completely useless. No change in the log was detected.
HOWEVER, the endless scrolling of gstdecodebin.c:1226 ends when video hangs.

Comment 4 Bug Zapper 2008-04-03 23:43:14 UTC
Based on the date this bug was created, it appears to have been reported
against rawhide during the development of a Fedora release that is no
longer maintained. In order to refocus our efforts as a project we are
flagging all of the open bugs for releases which are no longer
maintained. If this bug remains in NEEDINFO thirty (30) days from now,
we will automatically close it.

If you can reproduce this bug in a maintained Fedora version (7, 8, or
rawhide), please change this bug to the respective version and change
the status to ASSIGNED. (If you're unable to change the bug's version
or status, add a comment to the bug and someone will change it for you.)

Thanks for your help, and we apologize again that we haven't handled
these issues to this point.

The process we're following is outlined here:

We will be following the process here: to ensure this
doesn't happen again.
