Description Oded Arbel 2007-02-08 09:44:09 UTC
Description of problem:
The default yum configuration for fedora is invalid

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install yum
Actual results:
/etc/yum.conf has distroverpkg=redhat-release

Expected results:
/etc/yum.conf has distroverpkg=fedor-arelease

Additional info:
For some reason, yum still works, but installs packages for fedora core 7, even
though I have fedora core 6 installed.

Comment 1 Seth Vidal 2007-02-08 13:28:04 UTC
when looking up distrover yum does the equivalent of:
rpm --whatprovides redhat-release

which returns fedora-release on fedora and centos-release on centos, and
redhat-release on rhel.

it is so it works everywhere.
