Description Scott Williams 2019-04-03 15:39:45 UTC
Description of problem:
I upgraded to Fedora 30 via dnf. GDM loads and I can log in but GNOME immediately crashed on Wayland or Xorg. The workaround was to move all of the files out of ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/ - I still haven't been able to determine which of the gnome extensions caused gnome to crash.

gnome-shell-3.32.0-1.fc30

I've tracked the plugin down to here: https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/948/rss-feed/ I'll file a ticket on their GitHub, but I still believe we should handle extension failures like this more elegantly than outright crashing Gnome.

Comment 15 Scott Williams 2019-04-08 19:48:59 UTC
Filed an issue on GitHub for the extension: https://github.com/maweki/gnome-shell-extension-rss-feed/issues/13
