Description Raul Mahiques 2019-03-22 12:41:07 UTC
Description of problem:

When there is a drop down element in a service catalog the option to search appears but is not user friendly because:

- the search is performed against the value and not the description (the part that is shown to the user).
- the search must start with a valid string, ie:
values: abcd, bcf, dae
typing f will find nothing
typing a will find abcd

The user experience will improve if:
- Searches are performed against description and not values (or it is possible for the administrators to choose which one)
- Searches are performed in any part of the strings not just from the beginning, ie:
*abc* instead of abc*, so as per the example above:

values: abcd, bcf, dae
typing f will find bcf
typing a will find abcd and dae

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
5.7 and below

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:

- automation --> Customization
- Service Dialogs --> Configuration --> Add new dialog
- Fill in your dialog, then put a dropdown element.
- Edit the dropdown element and populate it with entries, the value and description must be different on each entry.
- Associate the service dialog to an existing or new catalog item
- Order the catalog item
- in the dropdown element, try to search by description.

Actual results:
Described above

Expected results:
