Description Artem S. Tashkinov 2019-03-15 14:03:54 UTC
1. /etc/grub.d/41_custom includes either

What are \${config_directory} and \$prefix ? Where should custom.cfg go?

2. /etc/grub.d/40_custom might be user modified but that might not properly survive a grub2 package update.

Why not use something like:

exec cat /etc/grub.d/*.grub or exec cat /etc/grub.d/*.config

3. /etc/grub.d/01_users uses \${prefix}/user.cfg

what's this file format? How is it used? Why should it be placed? Does it prevent from editing Grub2 menu entries or it makes booting without entering a password impossible?

4. How am I supposed to save a selected entry _from_ within the grub menu itself, so that it became default for all consecutive reboots? Is there a keyboard shortcut for that? There's nothing in documentation/man pages.
