Section Number and Name:

Section  :  1.3
Name : Standalone Use of Hammer

Describe the issue:

It's specifically mentioned that -

"The rhel-7-server-satellite-6.X-rpms repository is required to install the package"

But if someone wants to install hammer on a client host , then they won't be able to enable the above-said repository as it's a part of "Red Hat Satellite" Product but clients won't have the related subscription attached generally.

The subscriptions which client systems would have attached will give them the base product "Red Hat Enterprise Server".

Suggestions for improvement:

The workaround of this issue is to enable this repository - "rhel-7-server-satellite-tools-6.X-rpms".

Actual Steps to install hammer cli on a client system would be :

Make sure to have below repositories synced on satellite server and enable these repositories on the client host.

=> rhel-7-server-satellite-tools-6.X-rpms
=> rhel-server-7-rpms
=> rhel-server-rhscl-7-rpms

To install "hammer cli" on a host, please execute the command as mentioned below.

=> yum install tfm-rubygem-hammer_cli_katello -y

Make the required changes in the hammer configuration file /etc/hammer/cli.modules.d/foreman.yml
