Description Whitaker.ignasiak 2018-07-20 07:00:17 UTC
Description of problem:

When I drag and drop, no shortcut is generated, but my Nautilus window remains perfectly functional. When I bring my cursor back over the Firefox windoow, my cursor turns back into the icon for dragging and dropping and I can't interact with any elements in the Window using the mouse. Keyboard commands such as ctr-F still work. (I can still resize the window however and the page layout will update.) The only way I've found to fix this is by closing Firefox.
Dragging normal text and dropping it into a text editor does not cause the same problem.

This bug does not occur with native Wayland Firefox, however: Wayland Firefox compiles an offline HTML file of the dragged website URL rather than generate a URL shortcut. (Issues could be related?)

How reproducible: Every Time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Firefox X-Server on a Wayland desktop
2. Open Nautilus
3. Drag a URL from Firefox to Nautilus

Expected results: The creation of a URL shortcut in the designated folder.
