Description John Cameron 2018-07-13 06:32:34 UTC
Description of problem: Dhcrelay package update destroys config

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 4.2.5-68

How reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. vi /usr/lib/systemd/system/dhcrelay.service, add config
2. yum update dhcp
3. /usr/lib/systemd/system/dhcrelay.service replaced, config lost

Actual results:
Any config added directly in systemctl will be lost on package update

Expected results:
Config should be untouched on package update

Additional info:
Can be fixed by reverting to RHEL6 behavior,
create config file and call from systemctl.

DHCRELAYARGS="192.168.1.2 -i eth0.10 -i eth0.20"

Comment 2 Pavel Zhukov 2018-07-15 17:15:59 UTC
It is expected.
To modify unit files please change/create one under /etc/systemd/system directory.
Check https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/7/html/system_administrators_guide/sect-managing_services_with_systemd-unit_files for more information.
