Patch to solve broke gamin package (deleted)

no flags Details | Diff

Description Aurelien Bompard 2005-05-29 08:20:08 UTC
Description of problem:

/usr/lib/libk*.la files refer to /usr/lib/, but it does not exist
anymore in the gamin-devel package. As a consequence, amaroK won't build on rawhide.
A "grep -l /usr/lib/*.la" will give you the list of affected files, I
won't paste it here because there are 70 of them.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to build amaroK from extras on the devel branch
2. Message :
/bin/sh ../../../../libtool --silent --mode=link --tag=CXX g++ [...SNIP...]
grep: /usr/lib/ No such file or directory
/bin/sed: can't read /usr/lib/ No such file or directory
libtool: link: `/usr/lib/' is not a valid libtool archive

IMO, this is NOTABUG (not a gamin one anyway). gamin shouldn't provide (it's not really needed). Packages/ that currently
reference the missing simply need to be rebuilt.

In the meantime, the quick-n-dirty fix is:
perl -pi -e "s@/usr/lib/" /usr/lib/*.la

Comment 6 Ngo Than 2005-06-30 12:24:35 UTC
We have added .la files in gamin package back in FC4 release. For FC5 they will
be removed.
