Description Peter Bieringer 2005-05-03 12:49:08 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #97901 +++

From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0)

Description of problem:
/etc/xinetd.d/cups-lpd is flagged executable. It is clearly a configuration
file that should have permissions set to 644. The spec file for the cups RPM
should probably be updated to ensure that configuration files are installed
with the correct permissions.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
cups-1.1.17-13.3

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Not applicable

Additional info:

Could one check why this bug reoccurs at least in RHEL4?

# rpm -qlvp /mnt/install/rhel4/i386/RPMS/cups-1.1.22-0.rc1.9.i386.rpm |grep
"/etc/xinetd.d/cups-lpd"
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 239 Nov 11 14:42 /etc/xinetd.d/cups-lpd

Comment 1 Tim Waugh 2005-05-03 13:58:59 UTC
This is fixed in the current development version, and will be fixed in the next
release. There are no ill-effects of the current mode, and there will not be an
update for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 for this issue.

The fix was made in version 1.1.22-2, a later version than the one shipping in
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.
