Description Patrick C. F. Ernzer 2005-04-18 07:48:18 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050323 Firefox/1.0.2 Fedora/1.0.2-1.3.1

Description of problem:
I regularly do RHEL and FC installs from an ftp server that has ISO images loopback mounted.

It seems FC4 introduces a new error; anaconda tries to retrieve /pub/FC4-test2/i386/loopback-mounts/Fedora/base/stage2.img (while I expect it to retrieve from /pub/FC4-test2/i386/loopback-mounts/disc1/Fedora/base/

The annoying part is that it spews an error message, RHEL 4 and RHEl 3 definitely do not do this.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. modify isolinux.cfg so that "method=ftp://MYSERVER/pub/FC4-test2/i386/loopback-mounts" is appended
2. mkisofs as per docs
3. boot that ISO in VMware or test machine
4. select DHCP when asked about network

Actual Results: error message displayed:

Failed to retrieve /pub/FC4-test2/i386/loopback-mounts/Fedora/base/stage2.img: File not found on server

select OK

now anaconda retrieves disc1/Fedora/base/stage2.img and continues just fine

Expected Results: no error message, this confuses users

ah, specifying "method=ftp://MYSERVER/pub/FC4-test2/i386/loopback-mounts/disc1"
makes the error go away.
