Steps to Reproduce:
1. boot from boot.iso
2. linux text
3. choose network installation (ftp) and [x]DHCP for getting the IP

Expected Results: Getting the ip, and continue ...

What messages are there on tty3 and tty4 after attempting to get the dhcp lease?

Comment 2 Zoltan Kota 2005-04-15 06:26:37 UTC

Does DHCP work after install? The messages don't really show anything wrong to
speak of :/

Comment 4 Zoltan Kota 2005-05-04 19:51:21 UTC
Yes, DHCP works after install.

Comment 5 Rahul Sundaram 2005-08-19 06:14:12 UTC
This one looks like a dupe of

Jeremy. can you confirm this?

Comment 6 Jeremy Katz 2005-08-19 14:41:28 UTC
Did this work in FC4 final?

Comment 7 Zoltan Kota 2005-08-22 06:52:03 UTC
No. With boot.iso from FC4 final, it's the same.

Comment 8 Barry K. Nathan 2006-02-02 19:58:56 UTC
FWIW, on an iMac G3, FC4 final works for me but FC5 test2 seems to hit this bug,
as does rawhide from a couple days ago (from around Jan. 31st).

Actually, in my case on FC5 test2 or rawhide, my tty4 output is the same as the
original reporter, but my tty3 output is:

going to do getNetConfig
eth0 isn't a wireless adaptor
running dhcp for eth0

I never get a "pump told us: No DHCP reply received" line... Should I file
another bug instead of adding to this one?

Comment 9 Zoltan Kota 2006-02-02 22:27:59 UTC
Yes, maybe you should file a new bug report against fc5test2 then.

Comment 10 Chris Lumens 2006-08-03 20:16:23 UTC
Please try again with FC6 or FC6 test 2. Lots of work has gone into DHCP for
this release.

Comment 11 Zoltan Kota 2006-08-23 21:27:01 UTC
I have tried boot.iso from FC6 test2. Maybe the situation is a bit better but
finally it doesn't work. The messages on the console:

Comment 12 David Cantrell 2006-08-24 20:39:41 UTC
ppc and ppc64 systems were failing to get DHCP leases in loader in FC6 test 2.
Problem was fixed in libdhcp and the change is now available in rawhide.
