Description Ilanit Stein 2017-11-19 08:22:42 UTC
Description of problem:
This bug refer to the VM provision Request failure, Last message, not always indicating the root cause.

Due to bug 1514012,
VM provisioning from a template.
In the Network tab leave the default choice <None> -
Though the provisioning form is submitted successfully,
The VM provision Request eventually fails.

If the memory/max memory of the VM is set to some value as well,
the request last message will indicate the problem (no <rhevm> network profile):

"[EVM] VM [istein_bz] Step [CheckProvisioned] Status [Error Creating VM] Message [[MiqException::MiqProvisionError]: Unable to find specified profile: <rhevm>]"

HOWEVER,
if the VM provision is done without changing the hardware,
the error on <rhevm> will not be displayed in the last message of the Request.
Instead this last message appear:

"[EVM] VM [istein_bz_2] Step [CheckProvisioned] Status [Error Creating VM] Message [Creating VM]"

and only in evm.log, the real problem of no <rhevm> profile is mentioned.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
CFME-5.9.0.8/RHV-4.1.6

How reproducible:
100%, on RHV provider that has no <rhevm> profile.

Expected results:
The root cause of the problem should be displayed in the Provision request Last message.
It should displayed, regardless to the options entered in the provisioning form.
