Description Ryan Howe 2017-11-10 16:54:09 UTC
Document URL:

https://docs.openshift.com/container-platform/3.6/release_notes/ocp_3_6_release_notes.html

Describe the issue:

In 3.6 /oapi is deprecated or getting deprecated. Roles created for OpenShift objects now define apigroups.

There is not mention of these changes and what is needed to create custom roles for user on objects not included in the core api group.

Suggestions for improvement:

Add more detailed information regarding apigroups and their relation to roles in OpenShift.

Add more detailed information regarding ClusterPolicy, Policy, ClusterPolicyBinding and PolicyBinding API types that are now deprecate. What will be needed for clusters upgrading from 3.5 that have this in use. What is changing regarding the openshift project share-resource-viewer.

More information around what RBAC auth is and why we are moving and how this will affect any custom roles when upgrading to 3.5
