Description Tomer Brisker 2017-11-06 14:33:07 UTC
If subscription-mananger is used to reregister a system from portal to Satellite, but due to whatever issue the registration doesn't finish cleanly (e.g. clock skew leading to ssl failures), the system can not unregister from the satellite and re-register to portal to allow installing required packaged (e.g. ntpd), without manually having to edit /etc/rhsm/rhsm.conf to point back to the portal.

It would be useful for subscription-manager to have an option to reset the config back to the default values to allow handling such situations.

+1 to this RFE. This will be super useful. Now I need to manually reset rhsm.conf parameters to this.

This sounds like a new option to the config module. Something like....

# subscription-manager config --reset
# subscription-manager config --set-defaults

A polarion requirement for cockpit subscription plugin wants a similar thing:

RHEL7-109754 - RHSM-TC : subscription-manager-cockpit: Default URL should load the hosted Red Hat entitlement server
