Description Kalev Lember 2017-11-06 14:26:57 UTC
This is a Freeze Exception request for F27 to make sure we have the preferred color emoji fonts installed by default for Fedora Workstation. Color Emoji support is a GNOME 3.26 feature where the default package set changes in Fedora fell through the cracks; Fedora Workstation WG is requesting a freeze exception here to pull this in.

Please grant a FE for the following two changes:

1) https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2017-a1b250db9b

2) https://pagure.io/fedora-comps/pull-request/180

Any comment on the argument in the update that having a hard requirement isn't a good approach here?

Comment 2 Matthias Clasen 2017-11-06 18:47:36 UTC
comps doesn't work for upgrades

Comment 3 Geoffrey Marr 2017-11-06 19:37:53 UTC
Discussed during the 2017-11-06 blocker review meeting: [1]

The decision to classify this bug as a RejectedFreezeException was made as this is only a minor update and we feel that it is too far into the release cycle to mess with comps and core package requirements for such an update.
