Description Ash Westbrook 2016-08-09 14:31:10 UTC
Description of problem:

When the RHEL kernel loads up, it takes ~30-50 seconds to "come up" during the boot process. During this time, the system acts like the cable is disconnected. (I believe there was a "no carrier signal detected" message from tg3 over the system console)

The card eventually comes up and works great (full Gigabit speed, no dropped packets as far as I can tell). Our problem is that in the ~30-50 second delay, Red Hat's kickstart retrieval times out and dumps us to an emergency dracut prompt. Once at the prompt, I can use dhclient to acquire an IP address and get on the network, but cannot continue our kickstart install.
