Description Ali Akcaagac 2016-07-29 12:15:31 UTC
http://git.xfce.org/apps/xfce4-terminal/

Would be nice to update the packages for upcoming Fedora versions - together with the transition to gtk 3 support.

Yep. I saw the releases. Will do some testing here to see if it's stable enough to land in rawhide/f25.

Thanks.

A f26 scratch build if folks want to try it:

We should probably add all of this to a COPR like we did for Xfce 4.12.

I started this (https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/nonamedotc/xfce414/packages/) but did not do anything there.

I will get these in there so that we will have one central place. Kevin?

Well, xfce4-terminal-0.6.90, garcon-0.5.0 and xfce4-notifyd-0.3.0 don't depend on the new base packages, they can work fine with 4.12. I've been running them here all day and they seem pretty solid.

All the 4.13 packages and things that depend on them should definitely be in a copr.

Comment 5 Ali Akcaagac 2016-07-30 07:01:05 UTC
Sounds good.

Maybe a new thread on fedoraforum, so we can give some feedback for copr ?

I've been running garcom 0.5.0 since Fedora 22 (compiled with the older RPM spec found on fedora git) never had any issues. Terminal and notifyd are fairly new to say anything. But it looks like terminal at least uses a new VTE which might be an interesting try. Regardless of that: It might be worth while because that way we *the users* can report wishes and other stuff towards upstream at time. This also guarantees that we can communicate "things" before they go on with development too far.

Comment 6 Kevin Fenzi 2016-07-30 16:44:43 UTC
Sure, although also note that there aren't very many 4.13.x packages yet.
In fact only one ;)

http://archive.xfce.org/src/xfce/libxfce4ui/4.13/

so we might wait on that until there's more to test...

I'll likely push xfce4-terminal, garcon and xfce4-notifyd into rawhide/f25 later today.

Comment 7 Kevin Fenzi 2016-07-30 19:43:26 UTC
ok, xfce4-terminal built in rawhide and f25.

We should move the 4.13 discussion to the xfce list. :)
