xorg log from vmware 11

Filed from caseruns and

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Steps to Reproduce:
 1. log into GNOME Shell with 3D capable graphic device
 2. install glx-utils
 3. open a terminal
 4. run glxinfo |grep rendering

Actual results:
glxinfo shows: OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on llvmpipe (LLVM 3.8, 256 bits)

Expected results:
glxinfo should show: direct rendering: Yes and OpenGL renderer string shouldn't
be llvmpipe or any other software renderer

Additional info:
tested on Intel graphics Haswell [8086:0a16] with VMware 11 and on [AMD/ATI] RV620 GL [FirePro V3700] [1002:95cc] with VMware 12
vmwgfx driver has been loaded

Comment 3 Tomas Hudziec 2016-07-27 14:35:17 UTC
got it to work by adding line = "TRUE"
to file ~/.vmware/preferences

Comment 4 Michal Odehnal 2016-08-10 09:56:39 UTC
Does not work in VMware 10 even with added line in file ~/.vmware/preferences
