Description thsacnc 2007-04-13 14:17:53 UTC
Description of problem:
All attempts to create windows on Wine, including "Wine Configuration", fails(No
window apears or no window-content is shown) because of libX11. I'm using SCIM
in Japanese environment. According to the
site(, we need to patch libX11
because it does not treate DisplayLock correctly.

the patch is:

I strongly hope the patch is embedded officially because we must recompile
sources whenever libX11 is updated.

How much have you personally tried and tested this patch on computers under your
own management?

Just to be sure, could you please attach to this bug as uncompressed separate
attachments /etc/X11/xorg.conf and /var/log/Xorg.*.log files?

Thank you.

I usually use Xgl instead of Xorg, so I also add the log. I'm sure this bug is
not related to Xgl but libX11 because same result can be seen even under Xorg.

Oh, I'm sorry that I tested the patch only on 1 computer. But according to the
other homepages, many people resolved quite the same problem on Wine with this

Rawhide)? If this issue turns out to still be reproducible, please let us know
in this bug report. If after a month's time we have not heard back from you, we
will have to close this bug as CANTFIX.

reporter's distribution.

Users who have experienced this problem are encouraged to upgrade to the latest
update of their distribution, and if this issue turns out to still be
reproducible in the latest update, please reopen this bug with additional
