Comment 1 Zachary Whitley 2007-03-02 21:59:39 UTC
Updated the packages one at a time and restarted X after each package.

xorg-x11-server-Xorg.i386 1.1.1-47.6.fc6 is causing the problems.

Looking at the logs it appeared like the problem might have been with the mouse
driver so I updated that one first and X started without any problems. I then
updated xorg-x11-server-Xorg and had problems restarting. Backed out
xorg-x11-server-Xorg and it works fine.

Comment 2 Adam Jackson 2007-03-07 16:10:00 UTC
Does the crash still occur if you disable the Composite extension? Do this by

Section "Extensions"
    Option "Composite" "off"

to the end of xorg.conf

Comment 3 Zachary Whitley 2007-03-07 17:30:14 UTC
It still crashes with the Composite extension disabled.

Thanks for the bug report. We have reviewed the information you have provided
above, and there is some additional information we require that will be helpful
in our diagnosis of this issue.

Please attach your X server config file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) and X server log
file (/var/log/Xorg.*.log) to the bug report as individual uncompressed file
attachments using the bugzilla file attachment link below.

Could you please also try to run without any /etc/X11/xorg.conf whatsoever and
let X11 autodetect your display and video card? Attach to this bug
/var/log/Xorg.0.log from this attempt as well, please.

We will review this issue again once you've had a chance to attach this information.

Thanks in advance.

Went to test and the problem seems to be resolved with xorg-X11-server-Xorg-1.1.47-7
