Description Pavel Moravec 2019-03-04 13:20:03 UTC
Description of problem:
Following:

https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_mrg/3/html-single/messaging_installation_and_configuration_guide/#Configure_Clustering_with_a_non-privileged_non-root_user

I should add to /etc/init.d/qpidd :

CFG_DIR=/var/lib/qpidd
QPIDD_OPTIONS="--config ${CFG_DIR}/qpidd.conf --client-config ${CFG_DIR}/qpidc.conf"

But adding also the 2nd line, qpidd is attempted to be started with:

runuser -s /bin/bash qpidd -c 'ulimit -S -c 0 >/dev/null 2>&1 ; /usr/sbin/qpidd --config /etc/qpid/qpidd.conf --daemon --config /var/lib/qpidd/qpidd.conf --client-config /var/lib/qpidd/qpidc.conf --data-dir=/var/lib/qpidd --close-fd 9 --pidfile /var/run/qpidd.pid'

See the duplicit --config there - that causes "Error in command line options: multiple_occurrences" fatal error during startup.

I am not sure why the QPIDD_OPTIONS should be added at all, but definitely the "--config ${CFG_DIR}/qpidd.conf" is bogus there.

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Apply https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_mrg/3/html-single/messaging_installation_and_configuration_guide/#Configure_Clustering_with_a_non-privileged_non-root_user
2. Try to start qpidd service (even outside cluster)

Actual results:
2. fails with "Error in command line options: multiple_occurrences" fatal error during startup.

Expected results:
1. to be updated such that startup succeeds (both manual and namely via clusterHA)
