An icon should appear in the taskbar to indicate which language is selected for the keyboard, but the flag doesn't appear, only the frame and the letters appear.

Note that the switching of layout is effectively done, only the flag is missing.

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.

Control Center --> TAB Index --> Regional & Accessibility --> Keyboard Layout --> TAB "Layout"

Actual Results: An applet appear in the taskbar having a retangular shape and two letters to indicate the layout selected. The rectangle stay grey.

Expected Results: The rectangle should show a country flag associated with the layout.

Additional info:

Cause
-----

The following flag icons are missing in all directories /usr/share/locale/l10n/*/flag.png

e.g. /usr/share/locale/l10n/ad/flag.png
     /usr/share/locale/l10n/ae/flag.png
     /usr/share/locale/l10n/af/flag.png
     /usr/share/locale/l10n/ag/flag.png
.
.
.
     /usr/share/locale/l10n/za/flag.png
     /usr/share/locale/l10n/zm/flag.png
     /usr/share/locale/l10n/zw/flag.png

Solution
--------

Simply add all flag, I tested it by replacing the directory /usr/share/locale/l10n
with the one taken from Knoppix (http://www.knoppix.org).

Solution including flag icon, a script file to install the icons and screenshots.

The content of the compressed file should be very simple to understand.

Hi Camille,

Unfortunatly, flags can convey political undertones that some find very
offensive. We try to avoid presenting flags to stay out of contentious
political issues.
