Description lxg 2017-11-27 06:58:04 UTC
Created attachment 1359305 [details] improper properties wrapping for long name files Sorry, I do not know the proper component name for this problem! Description of problem: I use Fedora 27 with the MATE Desktop Environment 1.19.1. There was a bug of improper wrapping long file names and it has been corrected in the last update, i.e., https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=789625 However, the similar problem is still on the "Item Properties". Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. create a file with a very long name 2. right click the mouse and choose "Properties" 3. we can see the window will be very wide. Actual results: The window width will change with respect to the file name length. Expected results: Constant properties window size for all files. Additional info:

You linked an upstream pango bug, so pango is probably a better place to land this (though arguably,if it's already acknowledged usptream, there's less need for us to track it here, imo).

Dear Dieter, I am sorry that I not familiar with related systems, and please forward this to the proper place. Thanks.

The issue you referred was fixed in 1.40.14. so please update the package first and try again.

I meant the update has already been published. you have to run "dnf update" to get it on your system.
