Description tchek 2014-02-03 15:27:32 UTC
Description of problem:

When I attach virtual guest license to vm client I have this error message :

    Error occurred saving:
Resources::Candlepin::Consumer: 500 Internal Server Error {"displayMessage":"Unable to build object from JSON."} (POST /candlepin/consumers/7bfaa991-06f0-4fb4-ab49-fbc0c1fd19d6/entitlements?pool=8ac68a9f43de4d680143e9087f6f0d8e&quantity=1)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

I have install├ęd virt-who on one katello client to connect to vcenter 5.0.
When I add client to katello I can see uuid of physical host esxi in profil of client but not in list of all system.

for esxi host appear on list of all system I must click on his uuid in profile of vm client. I must select one environnment for this esxi and after I can attach license physical to that esxi.

When I click on vm of this esxi I see virtual guest license but I try to attach it I have always this problem.

Actual results:

I can't attach virtual guest license error message :

    Error occurred saving:
Resources::Candlepin::Consumer: 500 Internal Server Error {"displayMessage":"Unable to build object from JSON."} (POST /candlepin/consumers/7bfaa991-06f0-4fb4-ab49-fbc0c1fd19d6/entitlements?pool=8ac68a9f43de4d680143e9087f6f0d8e&quantity=1)

Expected results:

Good creation of esxi host in katello with environnment define in virt-who confgiuration file and attach virtual license guest to vm

Additional info:

I have other organization with vcenter 5.1 and it's works well.

Comment 1 lucas.harms 2014-07-22 22:05:41 UTC
I'm getting a similar message when trying to attach a RHCI virtual guest license. Installed virt-who on the RHEL hypervisor. Then the pool was listed as available. When trying to attach it, receive the same message, "Unable to build object from JSON".

Attaching katello-debug file to case. Can provide an example manifest if required.
